ENID BLYTON
Escritora inglesa nacida el 11 de agosto de 1897 en East Dulwich y fallecida el 28 de noviembre de 1968 en Londres. Su verdadero nombre fue Enid Mary Blyton, aunque publicó tanto con su nombre de soltera, Enid Blyton, como con el de casada, Mary Pollock. Es una de las autoras de literatura infantil y juvenil más populares del siglo XX, siendo considerada por el Index Translationum como el quinto autor más popular del mundo, ya que sus novelas han sido traducidas a casi un centenar de idiomas, teniendo unas ventas de cerca de cuatrocientos millones de copias. Sin embargo, ha sido habitualmente ninguneada por la crítica, que la ha acusado de repetir hasta la saciedad modelos narrativos y estereotipos. Es principalmente conocida por series de novelas como Los Cinco y Los Siete Secretos (ambas ciclos de novelas cuyos protagonistas son jóvenes que forman una pandilla y que desentrañan misterios) o Santa Clara, Torres de Malory y La traviesa Elizabeth (ciclos ambientados en internados femeninos, la otra constante de su narrativa).
