Novelista, dramaturga, ensayista, música, guionista y actriz ocasional, la canadiense Nancy Huston (Calgary, 1953) ha sido desde los años setenta una activista feminista muy comprometida. Residente en Francia desde los años sesenta y casada desde 1981 con el intelectual francés de origen búlgaro Tvetan Todorov, Nancy Huston ha compaginado sus novelas con ensayos y artículos de prensa sobre la condición femenina y los derechos de las mujeres. El año pasado publicó en Francia Reflejos en el ojo de un hombre, y ardió Troya. El libro, que publica ahora en España la editorial Galaxia Gutenberg cayó como una bomba en el feminismo institucional, porque Huston pone en cuestión las teorías de género que sostienen que el comportamiento femenino y masculino es el resultado de la educación y la sociedad
